How Coffee Pro’s Owner Mohammed is Brewing a Global Story in Astoria - Queens Ledger

A year ago, tucked into a lively corner of Astoria, Queens, a new kind of coffee shop quietly opened its doors. But Coffee Pro wasn’t just offering lattes and croissants—it was serving culture, connection, and a personal dream that had traveled continents to get there. Founded by Mohamed, ... Founded by Mohamed, a passionate coffee lover and baker, Coffee Pro was born from years of exploration. Before opening his first café, Mohamed traveled the world—learning the art of coffee in places like Morocco and Egypt, where tradition and flavor run deep. But Mohamed’s vision doesn’t stop in Queens. Coffee Pro is expanding, with a new location set to open soon in Lower Manhattan. “We’re excited to bring this same sense of warmth, quality, and culture downtown,” he says.At its core, Coffee Pro is about more than caffeine. It’s about connection—between people, places, and traditions. As Mohamed reflects on the first year, he’s most proud of the community that’s formed around his dream. “It’s not just my story anymore,” he says.Inspired by the journey of the coffee bean from fertile lands to the perfect roast, and the rich baking traditions of the Middle East—especially Egypt—Coffee Pro is a love letter to heritage.

Ninja Luxe Cafe 701 Pro Espresso Machine - Kev's Review 2025

Hands-on review of the Ninja Luxe Café Pro 701. Is it better than the 601? Coffee Kev compares features, workflow, and value to help you decide in 2025. I run the Coffee Kev YouTube channel where I review coffee gear honestly and independently. No freebies. No sponsorships & No fluff. I bought the Ninja Luxe Cafe Pro 701 (and the Premier 601) so I could put it through its paces and tell you exactly what I think of the new Pro 701 version, and how it compares to the Premier 601 when using them side by side. And now, the 701 Pro aims to take things further. Ninja is a smart company with a solid track record, but it made a few puzzling moves regarding the Ninja Luxe Café Premier 601, especially for North American buyers. One of the strangest decisions? No Americano button on the US and Canadian versions. Yes, I get that despite the name, Americano tends to be more prevalent in Europe. In the US, most people reach for drip coffee when they want a larger cup.Barista lights: For a more illuminated coffee-making experience, hehe. Let’s put the 601 aside for a moment and look at the Ninja Luxe Café Pro 701 as a standalone machine. If you hear “café” and think Starbucks or Costa, the 701 Pro was made with you in mind. If “café” makes you picture a third-wave, specialty coffee shop, then this machine may not be your cup of tea, and one of the alternatives might suit you better.

Roasting coffee on the New BeanGo Cube X Pro Coffee Roaster – Basic Barista

The BeanGo Cube X Pro is coming soon, in this article we talk about the features this roaster has and if its worth looking into as your next home coffee roaster We’ve been following this roaster since its Kickstarter campaign, and it’s one of the more intriguing small-batch coffee roasters we’ve seen in a while. So, what sets the BeanGo Cube X Pro apart from other home roasters? In a singular word, it's: automation. This roaster is designed to help new or casual home roasters get consistent, repeatable results without the guesswork that typically comes with roasting green coffee beans. It's big claim to fame is Auto Crack Detection, it can detect the first crack and adjust the roast curve automatically. For anyone who’s tried roasting on a popcorn popper or a manual drum, you’ll know how hard it is to nail the timing. With the Cube X Pro, you’re getting assistance by your side all while built into a compact, countertop unit.Choose your profile: auto mode, or one of your saved custom curves. Start roasting: the roaster will listen for first crack and manage the final stages automatically. Cool and enjoy: the built-in cooling cycle kicks in at the end to quickly stop heating the roaster, transfer the coffee into the cool tray to quickly cool your beans down to room temperature. The BeanGo Cube X Pro sits in that sweet spot between a“set and forget” coffee roaster and precise, full control roaster. It’s approachable enough for beginners and flexible enough for prosumers who want to explore the craft.

Ninja Luxe Café Pro review: tested by a certified barista | Tom's Guide

What Ninja lacks in coffee pedigree, it makes up for in outside-the-box innovation. The Ninja Luxe Café Pro breaks with established brands in a number of innovative ways, and while pro baristas might not love some of its quirks, I'd recommend it to almost everyone. Why you can trust Tom's Guide Our writers and editors spend hours analyzing and reviewing products, services, and apps to help find what's best for you. Find out more about how we test, analyze, and rate. ... The Ninja Luxe Café Premier rocked the coffee game when it dropped last year, but amid its myriad smart touches, there was one feature that I thought it lacked — a tamping arm.Visually, the Ninja Luxe Café Pro isn’t my favorite. And I’m not ashamed to say that looks matter to me in a coffee maker - if you’re asking me to display something on my kitchen counters, I’d like to enjoy looking at it.Like I said, I’m a coffee snob, and the machines in the office don’t always cut it. But if I could trade, I’d probably take the extra waste water space over the removable group head drip tray for the convenience of fewer trips to the sink. The machine will suggest changing your grind size depending on the extraction time of your coffee. Too long, and your grounds may be too fine, therefore not allowing enough water through and resulting in a bitter brew. Too short, and the grounds are too large, not creating enough pressure and therefore leading to a weak and under-extracted espresso. The Ninja Luxe Café Pro suggested I start at grind size 18, and it was happy with the first espresso I brewed.

When you purchase through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. Here’s how it works. ... The Gaggia Classic E24 Evo Pro is the latest and greatest iteration of Gaggia’s legendary home espresso machine. As I said, this latest iteration of Gaggia’s legendary home coffee machine makes wonderful espresso. And better now than ever thanks to a larger brass boiler and brass group head, both improving thermal stability. Its steam wand is powerful and (like every Gaggia Classic) the machine is built to last — no, seriously, I’ve seen reports of these things lasting up to 15 years. Slightly undermining the E24 Evo Pro’s admirable qualities are some equally frustrating ones.I’ve tested and owned enough coffee gear that I have tamps and cleaning tools lying around. But many won’t have that privilege, and will have to spend more money for a basic setup. Gaggia apologists ought to stop overlooking issues like this just because the machine is reliable and makes nice espresso. For $500 this is totally unacceptable, but Gaggia clearly thinks it can get away with it. Onto the good stuff. The Gaggia Classic E24 Evo Pro makes delectable espresso.Larger drinks were more challenging. With fuller jugs of milk, the boiler tends to run out of steam before the milk is properly textured, so I wouldn’t recommend this machine for people that like very milky lattes. Remember, to Italians coffee only comes two ways: espresso and cappuccino.
